Are you interested in preserving your own food? Home food preservation can be a safe and economical way to "put food by", as well as a source of enjoyment and pride for many. But, there are some basic rules of thumb worth remembering that will help ensure a safe, quality preserved product. The advantages of home food preservation are lost when inappropriate and unsafe procedures are used. Join OSU Extension Educator Jenny Lobb to learn more about the three basic methods of safe food preservation: canning, freezing and drying.
