Last month we marked Ohio Local Foods Week, held Aug. 7-13, to celebrate not only the tastes of local foods, but also to share the nutritional, economic, and social benefits of local foods in Ohio. In conjunction with many community partners, OSU Extension, Franklin County held events and educational programs for more than 920 adults and youth – from urban farm tours to cooking classes.

A big thank you to all those who helped make the week’s events possible, including the Franklin County Board of Commissioners, Columbus City Council, Mid-Ohio Food Bank, Local Matters, the North Market, Clintonville Farmers Market, The Crest Gastropub, Clintonville-Beechwold Community Resource Center, DNO Produce, Yay Bikes, Ohio Herb Education Center, and the Columbus Food Truck Festival.
