This summer the OSU Extension, Franklin County Community Nutrition Team - which includes our Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) and Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) staff - engaged with the Columbus community at local events such as 2017 FamJam and the Columbus Public Health farmers markets.

The community nutrition team connected with over 10,500 people through their outreach efforts this summer. The team provided fun activities to teach youth and adults about My Plate and the importance of eating foods from all the food groups. The team also passed out pencils with nutrition facts, food cut out glasses, and recipes to help families prepare for a safe and healthy
school year.

The OSU Extension, Franklin County community nutrition programs provide participants with tools and resources to improve their overall health by learning to make healthier food choices, prepare healthier meals, better manage their food budgets, and improve their food safety practices.
