Registration is now open for the next Ohio Master Urban Farmer Workshop Series, beginning in September. Hosted by OSU Extension, Franklin County and Extension in the City, the series is an intensive educational program consisting of 10 evening workshops and one Sunday field trip designed to help individuals learn how to produce and market a variety of food products in urban settings. While the workshop content will be introductory, individuals who already have some experience growing or marketing food products will benefit from participating.

The 10-week series will be held Thursday evenings on September 8, 15, 22, 29; October 6, 13, 20, 27; and November 3, 10. The cost of the program is $150 per participant, which includes a course notebook, several books, light refreshments during each session, one free soil test, and a bus tour. Successful graduates of the Ohio Master Urban Farmer program will receive free assistance in securing land, tools, seeds, and other resources needed to help start or expand a successful growing venture.

Space is limited to the first 40 individuals who register, and we anticipate that the series will fill quickly. Click here to register online, or if you have additional questions, click here or contact Mike Hogan at hogan.1@osu.edu.
