Franklin County Master Gardeners hosted the 2017 Statewide Master Gardener Volunteer Conference on the OSU Campus and at various sites around Columbus on Sept. 29 and 30, 2017. A total of 368 individuals attended various conference events over the two days, which included four different day-long bus tours to various gardens, urban farms, and horticultural institutions; three half-day walking tours on the OSU campus; and 18 different educational workshops and presentations over the two days. 

During the statewide Master Gardener Volunteer Awards program at the conference, Yen Hanes, Franklin County Master Gardener Volunteer Coordinator was recognized as the Outstanding Volunteer Coordinator in the state for 2017. 

Over 75 Franklin County Master Gardeners volunteered to help plan and support the statewide conference.The Franklin County Master Gardener Volunteer Program is the second largest program in Ohio by membership (192 MGVs) and has the largest and most diverse portfolio of community garden educational programs in Ohio.
