Are you interested in learning how to lead youth in gardening activities? The 4-H Project Green Teacher series will help you to create fun garden activities for youth, map out a school garden learning program, and become more confident as a school gardener. 4-H Project Green Teacher is a program facilitated by Ohio State University Extension personnel in Franklin County, in collaboration with area partners.

The three-day summer series is scheduled for June 11-13, 2018, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., both on and near the Ohio State University campus. 4-H Project Green Teacher is open to educators and others who would like to learn how to garden with children in schools, afterschool programs and other settings. Some of the topics to be covered include site selection, sustainability, soil testing, a history of plant-based foods, behavior management in the garden, bees and native pollinators, garden specific activities such as mulching, composting and amending; integrated pest management, soil testing, growing vegetables, volunteer management, engaging stakeholders, hydroponics and aquaponics, the farm to school program and more.
