Nearly 150 urban farmers and gardeners learned how to be more productive and successful while growing crops and nurturing neighborhoods at the second annual We Dig Ohio: 2016 Urban Agriculture & Community Gardening Summit earlier this year. Held in partnership with OSU Extension, Franklin County and the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, the day-long educational event featured multiple sessions on topics such as pollinators, integrated pest management, raising chickens, community gardening best practices, and more. Beyond attending the workshops participants also had a chance to meet and share experiences with individuals from across the state, helping grow not just their gardening expertise, but also expand their personal urban agriculture network.
