  3. Do it Yourself: Holiday Food Gift Workshop

    If you want to give the gift of food this holiday season, then OSU Extension, Franklin County has just the workshop for you! Join us as Family and Consumer Sciences Educator Jenny Lobb will host a Do it Yourself (DIY) Food Gift Workshop! You will have the opportunity to learn  how to can spiced apples on Wednesday, December 20. The workshop will be held at the OSU Extension, Franklin County Office starting at 6:00 p.m.

  6. 4-H Educators Attend the 2017 National Association of Extension 4-H Agents Conference

    Last month, our Franklin County 4-H Educators Beth Boomershine and Sue Hogan traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana where they participated in and presented at the 2017 National Association of Extension 4-H Agents Conference (NAE4-HA). Our educators joined 1,100 4-H professionals from across the country to network, exchange ideas, and experience professional development. Beth and Sue also had the opportunity to present their poster on the success of the Project Green Teacher Program.

Join us as Family and Consumer Sciences Educator Jenny Lobb will host two Do it Yourself (DIY) Food Gift Workshops this month! You will have the opportunity to learn how to can flavored vinegars on Wednesday, December 6, or how to can spiced apples on Wednesday, December 20, or you can learn how to can both. Both workshops will be held at the OSU Extension, Franklin County Office starting at 6:00 p.m.

  8. The 2017 Master Urban Farmer Graduation

    In November, we celebrated the graduation of 53 individuals from our 2017 Master Urban Farmer program, with Teresa Gottier, a former Master Urban Farmer student, who has become a teacher and leader in urban farming delivering the ceremony's address. The 10-week urban agriculture workshop series provides participants with an in-depth knowledge about growing, producing, and marketing a variety of foods in an urban setting. Congratulations to the all the graduates! They join a total of 249 Master Urban Farmers who have completed the program.

  9. Zero Weight Gain Email Wellness Challenge Has Begun

    As the leaves begin to fall, we get closer to the Holiday season. This Holiday season choose to maintain and not gain weight! Join OSU Extension, Franklin County as our Family and Consumer Sciences program area begins the Zero Weight Gain Email  Wellness Challenge. Participation is free! From November 20, 2017 through January 2, 2018, two email messages filled with encouraging links and a health tracking log will be sent weekly to each enrolled participant.

  10. The Annual Franklin County 4-H Youth Recognition Program

    This year, 410 Franklin County 4-H members were honored for their accomplishments at the Annual 4-H Recognition program held on Monday, October 23. Youth received awards for their community service, leadership, public speaking, and individual 4-H project achievements at the local, state, and national levels. We are proud of all our 4-H youth and their accomplishments. Congratulations to all of our 4-H members and families!
